Citizen Kane for those out on quarantine:
We watched the first part on 9/1 and the second part on 9/8. While watching, you should add at least one observation about the Mise-en-scene and at least one observation about the cinematography PER SECTION (so one each for section one and another minimum of one each for section two). After finishing the film, you need to go back and respond to your own observation, adding a bit of analysis. For example, I might make an observation post like:
CINEMATOGRAPHY--In the opening shot, the camera slowly pans up a variety of fences.
Then I would go back later and add a response like: "I think it gives the effect that we are climbing these fences, sneaking into his mansion like voyeurs."
Your observations cannot come from the first few minutes (the establishment shot), as I already broke a lot of that down for you in class.
